A haven of nature, far from the hustle and bustle of the world: welcome to the countryside of South-West France.
Put down your bags and take a deep breath: here, in a tiny village of just 100 souls, you’ll find peace, beauty, and the time to simply enjoy life. Soak in the views, listen to the birdsong, and reconnect with yourself and nature.
We’re Kala and Midou, and we’ll welcome you with open arms to our little corner of paradise, full of good vibes and authenticity. We’re passionate about nature, of course, but also about meeting new people, all forms of art, herbalism (that’s Kala), and deep philosophical conversations (that’s Midou).
Our spacious old house is currently being lovingly restored by us. It offers generous shared spaces: a kitchen and dining room, a cinema room, a billiards room, and two terraces.
And for you: a comfortable private suite with your own bedroom and bathroom: everything you need to feel right at home.
YOUR HOME STAY FRENCH IMMERSION IN PAYROS-CAZAUTETS
Language immersion is a powerful foundation for learning to speak with ease.
Our three children attended an immersive school in Occitan, our regional language. They’re now bilingual and naturally open to other languages and cultures.
We’ve seen firsthand how effective immersion can be — not only for language learning, but also for developing empathy and a deeper understanding of others.
Each of our three guest rooms has its own unique charm:

– The Africa Room is warm and cozy, with direct access to the large balcony.
– The Elf Room is playful and full of flowers.
– The Japan Room is sleek and modern.
We live in the countryside, halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees Mountains, surrounded by rolling hills, woods, fields, and pastures: a peaceful haven for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and those who enjoy picturesque landscapes and gentle walks through vineyards, forests, and farmland.
A perfect escape from the noise of the world.
After working as a children’s activity coordinator and then as a librarian, I now teach French to learners of all levels.
I began by teaching young people we welcomed into our home, learning as I went, and later became a trained professional. I am always on the lookout for new ideas and teaching methods, and I use my skills as an entertainer and comedian to make my lessons engaging.
Immersing yourself in real French life, interacting constantly with a family, learning during formal lessons but also in informal moments: this is the recipe for significant progress in mastering the language.
LEARNING FRENCH
I don’t follow one textbook, my lessons are tailor-made and always adapted to your needs.
As a creative person, I love to design or adapt activities to make learning fun and effective: from card games to theatre-based games and more. Lessons take place in a relaxed setting, either in our cinema room or outdoors, and always end with a visual summary, like a mandala or mind map, to help anchor what you’ve learned.
If you’re learning in a group, I’ll adjust the format using differentiated and cooperative teaching methods. Everyone progresses at their own pace and level, while learning together in a spirit of support and shared motivation.
ACTIVITIES
Nature’s beauty enchants us in every season, and walks are highly recommended!
Whether you’re exploring with our friendly donkey or discovering local flora (wild orchids, edible, medicinal, or aromatic plants), there’s always something magical to see.
After a walk, why not create your own herbarium or try your hand at incense-making in one of our nature-inspired workshops?
If you’re an animal lover, we can visit nearby friends who raise donkeys, angora goats, or run a small wildlife park.
If you’re into architecture, we’ll happily take you on a guided tour of a stunning bastide, one of our region’s medieval villages.
If gastronomy is your thing, you can enjoy a visit to a local wine or Armagnac cellar, or join us in the kitchen to help prepare meals, including delicious pizzas baked in our traditional wood-fired oven.
And of course, when the sun goes down: movies, storytelling, board games, billiards, or simply gazing at the wonders of the Milky Way…
