Benedicte, and her husband Jan, their daughter Hélène and her two sons Noah and Sylvain welcome you at their lovely home in wonderful Mercantour’s Park famous for La Vallee des Merveilles, the Valley of Wonders. Discover nature and improve your French with this authentic homestay French immersion in Belvédère.

Benedicte, a native and certified teacher of French for foreigners, will provide you with complete and personalized French courses based on your goals to improve your knowledge of the French language and culture. Hélène, bilingual and certified to teach French as a foreign language, will offer you practical conversation courses. They will welcome you and your family or friends into their comfortable home. Ideally situated in the village, Benedicte’s home will offer you a relaxing and warming environment with its private swimming pool, its garden and the magnificent view of the mountains. Bénédicte and Hélène will be your guides during the excursions visits to villages and nature walks. You are not far from Nice and the French Riviera either if you like to go shopping, visit a museum or swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

Everything is flexible, depending on your wishes and needs. Benedicte will provide you with personalized French lessons adapted to your level and particular expectations. Hélène will practice conversation skills with you during playful lessons or activities.

Live an unforgettable immersion stay in Mercantour’s Park!

You’ll be staying in the center of the village Belvédère, only a few minutes walking distance from authentic shops, restaurants and cafes, a snack, the tourist office and also hiking paths.
You will have your own comfortable double room (one bed for 2 people + bathroom sink) and bathroom. If you would like to come with friends or family we will be very happy to welcome them as well. We have a spacious house and can host up to 6 people. You will enjoy having breakfast with views upon the valley and the mountains. Sharing all the meals with you will be a pleasure for us. We prepare generous homemade cooking, and we love having guests. We don’t have a pet at home, and we are non-smokers, but you can smoke in the garden.

LEARNING FRENCH

Bénédicte: As a teacher at the Alliance Française I can teach for all levels, from Beginners to Advanced. All my courses are tailor-made for you. I will develop a program designed to reach your goals. To me, the French immersion in Belvédère at the teacher’s home is the best way to improve your French skills in an authentic manner. The courses are always in French, and as I am fluent in English and Dutch, I can effectively help you to communicate or understand the grammar, the vocabulary and learn more about our French culture.

Hélène: Thanks to my experience in intercultural exchanges, language courses and homeschooling, I’m
convinced about the added value and the effectiveness of an immersion programme. I took the course
Enseigner le français langue étrangère aujourd’hui (Teaching French as a Foreign Language today) from
the Cavilam-Alliance Française of Vichy in order to be able to offer you conversation lessons tailored to
your needs, goals and interests. I’m multilingual (French, Dutch, English, Spanish and German),
passionate about cultural differences and sporty (cycling, hiking). I’ll be happy to help you improve your
conversation skills, while making you discover the French culture, as well as our region.

We will have as many conversations as possible during our lessons, but also when sharing delicious meals and discovering the area with me as your guide. You will have French classes in the living room, with the view of the mountains, every morning and there will be a maximum of 4 students with the same level of French, and only if you come with your friend, partner or family members. We will use all our knowledge in teaching French to help you master the French language in no time!

ACTIVITIES

Welcome to the Mercantour! You will be able to spend a day in Nice to stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, visit a museum or do some shopping. In the mountains, you can go for a hike, discover the beautiful valley of the Gordolasque, gateway to the Mercantour National Park. You will be amazed to discover the contrast between the mountains and the coast. If you like the idea of cycling, we have a lot of bicycles. There are nice tours to do. Via ferrata, canyoning, and zip line are all possible to do in our area. You can also enjoy our swimming pool and play ping-pong in the garden. In the village of Belvédère it is possible to visit the Milk’s museum or the honey shop. During your stay at our home you will discover many things while relaxing.
